About the Pinkham Way Alliance

The Pinkham Way Alliance is a community campaign group which came together in early 2011 when local people living near the Pinkham Way nature site became concerned about plans by the North London Waste Authority to develop it for a large-scale waste facility.

Since then, the Pinkham Way Alliance has been involved in every step of the formal planning consultations relating to the status of the site. These include the Haringey Local Plan; the Haringey Site Allocations DPD and the North London Waste Plan (adopted into the Local Plan in July 2022).

This level of engagement has only been possible due to the sustained work of a small number of skilled volunteers, who have generously given their time and expertise over many years.

The Pinkham Way Alliance has approximately 1000 supporters. Its membership is drawn from a wide area across three boroughs – Barnet, Haringey and Enfield.
